DO NOT USE THESE COWBOYS I had the misfortune of using Armishaws in January & can only now feel able to write a review. I moved from Somerset to Suffolk in January, believing that these were a reliable company, I was treated appalling. Unfortunately my rental dates had to be moved from a Monday pick up, deliver Tuesday, to pick up Thursday, deliver Friday, they changed me 800 for the privilege, it wasnt my fault. I changed well before Christmas not only the date but the address, they went to the original address. The men who loaded were rude & threw my things into the lorry, getting me to sign a piece of paper, not explaining what it was. After they left I found a whole lot of stuff they hadnt taken. When I rang the office, I was told the lorry had left Wincanton, I doubt it had even reached Wincanton. After they eventually arrived at the correct address the next day, furniture was broken, sofas werent put together, nor were bed, fittings for the beds were lost, the 2 chaps were in a hurry & threw my things in the house. The whole move cost me nearly 3,000 and they hadnt even packed. I am disabled & moved with my 2 dogs & parrot. I was assured that my move would be smooth & without trouble. My letter of complaint was replied to with a complete pack of lies. They offered me 50 compensation. I just didnt have the strength to even take the 50I have friends who moved back from Singapore & didnt pay the amount that I paid. AVOID THEM LIKE THE PLAGUE
Booked them for a survey. Arrived early which wasnt an issue so we asked him to wait a minute so we could put our dog out of the way. Came back to the front door to find hed gone with no explanation. Unprofessional and wont be using or recommending them again.
Second time using Armishaws Removals. Would definitely recommend them. The staff arranging the move were always helpful and replied to emails. Everything went really well on the day. The men were punctual and worked almost non-stop and they were very fast. They were also friendly and helpful. Everything went really well for the delivery too. I would say that the company has even improved since we used them in 2010 and the service was excellent.
(No stars) I am left in a state of shock prior to our proposed house move for next week as yesterday I got a call from Armishaws to say there are no more lorries left to do our move! Even though I had paid the 100 deposit on the day I reserved them some months ago (they were insistent I paid the deposit immediately), I have weekly updated Lauren in the office on our plans but could never confirm 100% on the date as our exchange still hasn't taken place (no fault of ours). They didn't even phone to say they were close to being booked out that day, they just said they could no longer help us and that they will return my deposit (by cheque, although I paid by direct debit on the phone). So they have my 100 deposit and I don't have removers. I would suggest to anyone not to use them as you do not need this additional stress during your move.
