Absolutely love this place! Very old and very delicious! We went back the next night to ensure a delectable dinner before leaving town, and it was worth it.
The place is really nice, the age of the building exuding character. Only grumble I have was portion size was a bit tight. Fish n chips ordered and it was a tiddler. Venison steak and burger were nice, the steak being the winner. Fish was a rip off.
I adored this place for lunch! The sausages were delicious. It would be a fab place for a pint as well. The service was quick and courteous, couldn't ask for more. Such a gem. (And yes, I did trip on the stairs. Part of the experience)
Very please with my experience here at The Haunch Of Venison. Upon entry we were welcomed by a loving presented fireplace and was great especially this time of year! A picture paints a thousand words but in this instance the pictures I have captured do not give this amazing food justice. It was perfect in every way. 100% we will be returning! *****
Went with friends and ordered Lamb roast dinner, really enjoyed mine, although to be honest it wasn't as hot as it might have been, luckily that doesn't bother me so much. However friends weren't so lucky. Beef brisket was tough and they liked their food really hot. We also had to ask for horseradish sauce and mint sauce. Tap water wasn't refilled. They were very busy and the desserts were fine. After having a word they didn't charge us for 2 desserts and were very apologetic. I have eaten there before and always had Google service .
