Dog friendly with water and dog biscuits available. Staff were very welcoming and couldn't have been more helpful. An excellent little beer garden, complete with a few 'bothies' holding up to 6 people.

Cozy place, nice atmosphere, staff is really friendly. Food is decent, fish and chips not the best around, but they work if you are hungry.Price per main dish: 10-14 .Beers: 4-5

Menu sounded different and an interesting variety, but the food was very disappointing. We both ordered the haddock (?) and sweetcorn chowder .. good creamy flavour, but thin and insubstantial: and very poor value. At 9.00 I would expect a meal, not just a bowl of soup. The apple crumble was very disappointing; apple, yes, but the crumble was thick and very dry and just sprinkled on top ... it didnt seem to have been cooked with the apple. The custard was thin and sweet, but with no substance. We both left half of our puddings ...Service was just ok. Although wed been told to find a table, after wed been served drinks we had to go to the bar to order our food, for both courses, as no-one seemed available to take our order.Sorry, I would not recommend .. shame, as Ive eaten here in the past (although quite a while ago) and enjoyed the experience, and weve always liked to pop in for coffee. I think the staff were doing their best but not enough of them, maybe ...

Very busy but they took time and made us feel valued. Great with children Food choice excellent and we all enjoyed. Great for veggies and vegans as well . Indulgent mac anc cheese with crayfish tails

An open and airy large bar room. Very comfortable and welcoming. Pleasant friendly staff. Nice choice of drinks including Black Rat Cider which was excellent. Menu and specials board a little limited but enough variety to choose from. My haddock chowder was simply superb and the flatiron steak and the fish and chips were very good. We will be going back! Recommended.
