(I was not a client of this firm. However, my Mum used to work for them some years ago, and she passed away this year. I should add that the solicitors themselves seem to be professional and courteous (indeed I had already spoken with a solicitor on the telephone beforehand about a separate matter, who was lovely and helpful), but I also need the very basics of human decency by public-facing support staff, too - and its one of the Receptionists who has warranted this review because she demonstrated a really unpleasant attitude.I went to their offices without a prior appointment, to enquire whether they could do certified copies of various documents. I initially spoke to a very pleasant Receptionist and explained that my Mum had worked there and that shed passed away, which is why I approached them.However, her colleague, a senior Receptionist came in and thats where things became less pleasant. She asked if I was an existing client, and I said I wasnt, but that I might need them in the future. The second Receptionist clearly didnt want to care since I wasnt a client, and told me they would not be able help me. Her attitude was belittling, she was dismissive and she displayed no tact or compassion. There are ways of dealing with people - had she politely and pleasantly said unfortunately they would not be able to help, but take my details just in case etc., it would have at least felt as though I was being considered. Attitude from Receptionists can speak volumes about a firm, after all, they are the face of the company. Her attitude felt especially hurtful as my Mum had only very recently passed. Should I need the services of a solicitors in Salisbury, sadly I wouldnt consider WV, simply based on the experience I had with that Receptionist. I had also emailed them to let them know about my experience.
