Great pub near the center of Salisbury. Good beers and a mixed friendly crowd of customers. Very welcoming.
Great Music, great atmosphere and great food!! Only reason for not being 5star was the bar staff, they weren't very accomodating, kitchen and waiting staff were outstanding though!!
Recently visited the avon brewery for a work function and it was a terrible experience. A buffet was organised at 15 a head (there was 30 or so people there) and all that was on the the buffet was some really naff sandwiches, a single quiche, undercooked sausage rolls, pigs in blankets and the tiniest chicken wings i have ever seen. This was ment to be a works function that we had payed for but members of the public just seem to walk in and out when they pleased and take food from the buffet. There was not enough for for us as it was. I personally bought three rounds of the same drinks at the bar, each of which was a different price from the last. It seemed to be that they were just making up the prices as they were going along. If I didn't argue that point to them i would have been ripped of even further. I will not be visiting again .
Had a fantastic meal here tonight . Highly recommend their food .
Everyone said "hello" before I had a chance to belly up to the bar. It seemed as if I wad the only tourist but the locals, bartender and even one of the owners made it feel so comfortable right off the bat.I had a couple of local brews. Some friendly chats and was welcomed back "anytime". I went back for dinner. The fish and chips were GREAT and even with a full house the friendliness continued. After touring around the town and surrounding area tomorrow... I'll be back at the Avon.Cheers mates!
